Hollywood bosses have today confirmed that former Equality and Human rights chairman Trevor Phillips would be teaming up with suspended Sun journalist Kelvin Mackenzie for a blockbuster remake of 1980’s action film Lethal Weapon.
Filming will begin later this year, with the British city of Liverpool being considered as the primary location, as directors believe its gritty urban realism will successfully bring the franchise into the 21st century.
Mr Phillips expressed his delight on twitter, saying that he had been a fan of Mr. MacKenzie’s work for years, and was looking forward to working with ‘a truly talented and gifted man’
This news comes just days after foreign secretary Boris Johnson accepted a role in the upcoming Tango and Cash remake, alongside best friend, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
