Research scientists from Cambridge University have today confirmed that watching two middle-aged men potting balls is measurably more exciting that watching precision engineered motor cars race each other at speeds of over 200 miles per hour.
Speaking at a press conference, a slightly confused Professor had this to say:
‘We just don’t understand it. When presented with a straight choice between watching Mark Selby spend two minutes weighing up a safety shot, or seeing Lewis Hamilton perform a series of dangerous overtaking manoeuvres, the overwhelming majority of our test subjects picked the first option’
This news comes just days after Harvard Medical School announced that spectators at the average indoor bowls match experienced a higher spike of adrenaline than those at a typical WrestleMania event.
