Former Prime Minister Tony Blair has announced he will be returning to politics, citing the Brexit referendum result as the main motivation behind the decision to come back.
‘You need to get your hands dirty, and I will’, said Blair, a statement which suggests he will be more than just a voice on the sidelines.
However, he has ruled out standing in the upcoming general election, concentrating instead on ‘trying to shape the policy debate, which means getting out into the country and reconnecting’.
This news is unlikely to go down well with the current Labour leadership, as Mr. Blair’s admiration for ‘centre-ground’ politics is at odds with Mr. Corbyn’s view of what the party stands for.
