Buckingham Palace has today confirmed that a talented horse has been commissioned to paint a portrait of The Queen.
The equine artist, who goes by the name ‘Metro’, has built up a fine reputation over the years for what critics describe as ‘a unique style, combining elegant but simple brushwork, with a modern 21st century outlook, and just a hint of introspection’.
A spokesman for the horse had this to say:
‘Metro is delighted to be given this wonderful opportunity. It is the culmination of years of hard work, and his only ambition is to do justice to our wonderful monarch, Queen Elizabeth II’
‘His fee is three bags of apples and a bale of hay’
