UKIP leader Paul Nuttall will announce plans to bring net migration down to zero, with a ‘one in, one out’ policy, which he believes will allow ‘the brightest and best from around the world’ to come to Britain, while ‘calming public concerns about immigration’ as well.
At the moment, around 300,000 people leave Britain every year, while approximately 600,000 come into the country. The Conservatives have repeatedly promised to reduce the net figure to under 100,000, but have not come close to achieving that target.
Mr. Nuttall will hope that this pledge will help to turn things around after a disastrous performance in recent local elections.
