Blur frontman Damon Albarn has blamed ‘comfortable white English people’ for last year’s Brexit result, accusing voters of being ‘nostalgic for the past’.
He also claimed that leaving the EU meant that Britain was ‘going down a route that doesn’t really listen to the voices of the young’, and that Brexit voters ‘wanted to go back’, not forward.
‘Isolationism to my mind is going back. We need to go forward. We need to keep our mind open’.
The drummer for Blur, David Rowntree, was recently elected to the Norfolk County Council, after standing as a candidate for the Labour party.
