* ‘I am not a vegetarian’, says Corbyn*

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has today announced that he is not a vegetarian, and that he would be prepared to eat meat ‘as a last resort’.

Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, a defiant Mr. Corbyn had this to say:

‘Don’t believe everything you read in the papers. I am not a vegetarian. I have never been a vegetarian, and if elected Prime Minister on June 8th, I will not govern as a vegetarian’.

‘All I am saying is that meat eating should only be done after all other options have failed. My policy is to negotiate first, then decide whether or not to take extreme measures. I truly believe the British people would support that’.

Prime Minister Theresa May responded to this announcement by calling Mr. Corbyn ‘weak, ineffective, and unfit to lead the country’, and then revealed plans to have steak and chips for dinner because ‘that is what strong and stable people do’.
