* ‘The money was just resting in my account’, says Mugabe*

President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe has today denied allegations of fraud and corruption, saying ‘the money was just resting in my account’.

Journalists from the Zimbabwe Daily Herald have claimed that Mr. Mugabe has over $60 million dollars in his personal bank account, which had been earmarked for road building and infrastructure spending.

At a press conference this afternoon, a defiant President Mugabe had this to say:

‘These allegations are totally false. The money is simply resting in my account. If you think I’m going to spend it on a Gulfstream G650 private jet with bespoke leather seats, private bedroom, and a cocktail bar, then you’re very much mistaken’.

‘Those roads and bridges will be built soon enough, you have my word’.

This comes just days after Donald Trump announced there was no money for the border wall, ‘because I loaned the Prince of Nigeria $9 billion and he hasn’t paid me back yet’.
