Theresa May was triumphant at last night’s BAFTAs, taking home the award for Best Hair & Makeup.
In an emotional acceptance speech, Mrs. May said:
‘I’d like to thank my husband Philip, for his years of loyal support. I’d like to thank my friends and family, and all my colleagues who have made this possible’.
‘It takes a lot of effort to get my hair and makeup looking this good. There is a dedicated team of experts, working tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure I look my best every single day’.
‘This award belongs to you as much as me’.
‘I am truly honoured’.
It was a difficult night for Lib Dem leader Tim Farron, who went home empty handed, despite being strong favourite for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, although Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn fared better, taking home Best Original Screenplay for the party’s ‘2017 General Election Manifesto’, which has been described by critics as ‘profoundly moving, and a thoroughly deserved winner’.
