Former MP for Twickenham Vince Cable has called Theresa May’s Brexit plan ‘a pact with the Devil’, and has warned voters that leaving the EU could cause huge economic damage, especially to the financial sector.
Mr. Cable suggested ‘chronic uncertainty’ would mean that ‘a lot of damage will be done to the City’.
‘By pursuing hard Brexit, we’re creating trade barriers against ourselves as a country. That cannot possibly have a positive outcome’.
Mr. Cable has also criticised the idea of a ‘progressive alliance’ against the Tories, as he considers Jeremy Corbyn to be too far to the left of politics, alienating those at the more moderate end of the spectrum.
