UKIP’s deputy chairman Suzanne Evans has said that Theresa May must ‘bear some responsibility’ for the Manchester terror attack, saying her support of cuts to the armed forces and police has left Britain exposed.
‘All politicians who voted for measures to make cuts bear some responsibility’.
‘I think when 9/11 happened we should have had a serious rethink about immigration. It didn’t happen’.
Ms. Evans then appeared to backtrack somewhat, saying:
‘The only people who are responsible for what happened in Manchester are the terrorists. Let me make that absolutely clear’.
Today saw the launch of the UKIP manifesto, which makes national security a priority, promising 20,000 more troops, 7000 more prison officers, and 4000 more border officers.
