[100 word news] – Jeremy Corbyn ‘would not defend this country’, says Boris

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has attacked Jeremy Corbyn’s reluctance to use nuclear weapons, saying the Labour leader ‘would not stick up for or defend this country’.

‘When it came to Jeremy Corbyn on the defence of our country, we have invested £31billion in the Trident nuclear programme and he absolutely refused to confirm that he would even use it’.

‘Thereby voiding the logic of deterrents, he would not stick up for or defend this country’.

These comments came after Mr. Corbyn appeared on BBC Question Time, and argued that the best way to avoid nuclear war would be to ‘ensure that any threat is actually dealt with earlier on by negotiations and talks’.

  1. Did JC say he would not defend this country ? No he did not ! He said he would work to find an alternative to what many in that audience called pressing the button, meaning firing a nuclear weapon ! Yes of cause he would if he had to give the man some credit because he knows as l do and fear once you start using nuclear weapons it could mean a total destruction of our world or certainly most of it ! And who has a right to do that ? People should consider the outcome of pressing “the button” before condemning a man who believes an alternative can be sought before condemning us all to oblivion ? !!!

  2. What is it about old men like Johnson, and their unbridled enthusiasm for mass murder? Is it youth envy, or just another way to deflect from the wisdom of Corbyn’s words? I mean, really, as if pressing the button without thought would make us any safer.
