[100 word news] – ‘Labour’s budget numbers simply don’t add up on the NHS and the economy’, says Mick Hucknall

Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall has criticised the Labour party, saying: ‘Labour’s budget numbers simply don’t add up on the NHS and the economy’.

‘The privatisation of utilities costs would be astronomical, as would setting up a National Bank’.

Mr. Hucknall also posted a message on twitter saying he had been ‘Labour all my life’, but that he ‘cannot vote for Corbyn, Abbott and McDonnell’.

He also went on to say that ‘to properly fund the NHS, we must all chip in’.

‘As a fully paid UK tax resident since 1985, I’d be proud to contribute to that’.

  1. So what figures did Hucknall come up with? Exactly by how much is Labour short? How many of Labours pledges has he calculated COULD be achieved on Labour’s figures?

  2. well no..the figures do add up..and better yet, owning public utilities and services means better utilities and services for everyone,it is an investment …the selling off of assets that has been done around the world by right wing governments has only lead to poorer service and higher profits for the shareholders …

  3. Money’s clearly not too tight for him then. Must have made it from that song he wrote in the Thatcher years.

I been laid off from work.
    My rent is due.
    My kids all need
    Brand new shoes.
So I went to the bank
To see what they could do.
They said “Son, looks like bad luck
    Got-a hold on you”.
    Money’s too tight to mention.
I can’t get an unemployment extension.
    Money’s too tight to mention.
    I went to my brother
To see what he could do
He said “Brother like to help you
    But I’m unable to”.
So I called on my father, father.
    Oh my father
    He said
    Money’s too tight to mention.
    Oh money, money, money, money.
    Money’s too tight to mention.
I can’t even qualify for my pension.
    We talk about Reaganomics.
Oh Lord, down in the congress
They’re passing all kinds, of bills
    >From down on Capital Hill (we’ve tried them)
    Money’s too tight to mention.
    (spoken) Cut back!
    Money, money,…

  4. It is a shame that David Cameron wasn’t fighting this election.

Then it would boil down to whether you would fuck a pig or Diane Abbott.
