The prestigious London Philharmonic Orchestra has hired its first canine conductor, putting an end to criticisms of a lack of animal representation at the top level of classical music.
‘This is a huge step forward for diversity’, said Culture Secretary Karen Bradley.
‘Why shouldn’t animals be allowed to be conductors? It’s 2017, and we feel this is long overdue’.
‘Hopefully this will pave the way for more animals to succeed in the performing arts’.
Following this news, the Royal Shakespeare Company announced that a cow would be playing the role of Hamlet, in the forthcoming production of Hamlet.
