[100 word news] – Lineker on Brexit: ‘As the picture becomes clearer, it’s hard to see a single positive’

Football pundit Gary Lineker has weighed in on the Brexit debate, after the Independent newspaper published a Survation survey which showed that if a second referendum were held tomorrow, 54% of voters would choose to remain in the EU.

In a message on twitter, Mr. Lineker said:

‘Unsurprising. None of us knew the consequences at the time of the referendum. As the picture becomes clearer, it’s hard to see a single positive’.

‘It’s understandable really. False promises, grass is greener and all that’.

This is not the first time Mr. Lineker has tweeted about political issues.

Last year he posted a message about the refugee crisis, saying:

‘The treatment by some towards these young refugees is hideously racist and utterly heartless. What’s happening to our country?’.
