David Amess MP has complained that he is still being ridiculed over the Brass Eye ‘Cake’ hoax, 20 years after the TV show first aired.
‘If you go on to the social media, you’ll see the mickey is taken out of me because of Cake’.
‘Shame, shame on any youngster who comes up to me and thinks it’s a laughing matter’.
‘Shame on Channel 4, who got people into the building when the then minister of state Tony Newton, checking through his civil servants, thought there was a drug called Cake’.
‘The things that people now say, young, middle-aged or old, to we the politicians, frankly disgust me’.
