Sir Vince Cable has told the BBC he believes a second referendum on EU membership will give voters ‘a way out when it becomes clear that Brexit is potentially disastrous’.
Mr. Cable also suggested that current divisions within both major parties meant that the Brexit decision may be reversed.
‘I’m beginning to think that Brexit may never happen. The problems are so enormous, the divisions within the two main parties are so enormous, I can see a scenario in which this doesn’t happen’.
He also pointed out that if the economy suffers, ‘the whole question of continued membership will once again arise’.
