Brexit transition deal would be a ‘massive car crash in slow motion’, says Vince Cable

Lib Dem leader Vince Cable has said that the Brexit ‘transitional deal’ proposed by Philip Hammond would just ‘kick the can down the road for two more years’.

‘It may be in that two years we don’t have massive disruption, which is very much to be welcomed, but it doesn’t explain what you do after that’.

‘All it means is that instead of having a massive car crash, we have a massive car crash in slow motion’.

‘That is where the second referendum comes in. I am not in favor of referendums. It is a terrible way to deal with it, but since this whole process started with a referendum it is the only way of finishing it’.

‘I don’t think we could exit from Brexit without a referendum’.

  1. So a third rate political leader of an almost defunct party, who became leader because no one else wanted the job, another traitor to his promises to students, thinks that he has any credence whatsoever? He who doesn’t “Believe’ in referendums yet now he wants another referendum. We had a referendum, the majority vote was to leave. His is insane.
