Fox on Brexit: ‘Unregulated free movement would not keep faith with that decision’

Liam Fox has said that EU free movement must end by 2019, as it was one of the key reasons behind the public’s decision to vote leave.

‘We made it clear that control of our own borders was one of the elements we wanted in the referendum, and unregulated free movement would seem to me not to keep faith with that decision’.

‘I am very happy to discuss whatever transitional arrangements and whatever implementation agreement we might want, but that has to be an agreement by the cabinet’.

These comments come after Chancellor Philip Hammond said that ‘It will be some time before we are able to introduce full migration controls between the UK and the European Union’, and that a transitional deal may continue up to 2022.

  1. We voted for control of our borders it’s not enough that we will be paying for staying in till 2022 but the open door has to end 2019 or if I was a conservative mp I wouldn’t be planning to stay too long in the House of Commons most of you will be on your bikes
