Communities secretary Sajid Javid has defended Labour MP Sarah Champion, who resigned yesterday over an article she wrote for The Sun which said ‘Britain has a problem with British Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls’.
Mr. Javid posted a message on twitter saying:
‘Corbyn was wrong to sack Sarah Champion. We need an honest open debate on child sexual exploitation, including racial motivation’.
Mr. Corbyn denied sacking Ms. Champion however, saying:
‘I have accepted Sarah Champion’s resignation and thank her for her work in the shadow cabinet. I look forward to working together in future, because she is totally committed to protecting vulnerable women in our society’.
